| (September 28)Investigation of the impact of the fall of a steel beam into the Unit 3 Spent Fuel Pool | |
| On September 22, 2012, during works for debris removal from the upper part of Unit 3 reactor building, a steel beam fell into the spent fuel pool. We have been investigating inside the pool and the impact on the surrounding environment. | We have finished taking out two fresh fuels from the Unit 4 Spent Fuel Pool and bringing them to the Common Spent Fuel Pool Building to investigate the condition of the fuels such as the degree of corrosion. This work was done from 9:30 am, July 18 to 4:47 pm, July 19. Full-sxale removal of the fuels from the Unit 4 Spent Fuel Pool was planned to begin within 2 years from the completion of Step 2, which we announced in December, 2011. |
