We sincerely apologize to the people living in the surrounding areas of
the power station and broader society for the concern and anxiety that has
arisen on account of the accident at Fukushima Daiichi and Daini Nuclear
Power Station.
We were dealing with the accident at Fukushima Daiichi & Daini Nuclear
Power Stations caused by the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake on
March 11th 2011 and the prolonged outage at Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear
Power Plant. At the same time, in order to stabilize the power supply, we
strived to maintain and secure capacity via measures such as increasing
thermal power generation. As a result of the severe situation of a heavy
fuel cost burdens, we were seeking to raise the electricity rates of our
customers in the deregulated section from next April. Today, we announce
the further details regarding the increasing of the unit rate.
The new electricity rates are increasing uniformly to the original rates
2.58 yen/kWh for the Extra-High-Voltage customers and 2.61 yen/kWh for the
High-Voltage customers. The increasing unit rate is equivalent to the part
of which we can not cover the burden increments with our thoroughgoing
rationalization such as fuel costs for the premise of the current
electricity rate.
We will announce the standard contract (Electricity Supply and Demand
Contract) including new electricity unit rate in our homepages.
Your continued understanding of our severe business conditions is greatly
appreciated.
