This page is a guide outlining the procedures for Awarding construction works contracts as stipulated by TEPCO's Materials & Procurement Department.

Introduction

In order to meet the steadily growing demand for electric power, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has made its corporate mission to provide customers with an economical, stable supply of clean electric energy.
To achieve this goal, TEPCO has initiated far-reaching programs for the construction of new power plants and the expansion and upgrading of its electric power transmission and distribution facilities. These activities reflect TEPCO's awareness of the need to conserve natural resources and protect the environment, and its efforts to hold down service costs.
In May 1992, TEPCO published its program for procurement of materials and equipment and revised the procurement procedures in order to increase the number of Japanese and foreign enterprises with which it does business. From 1994, TEPCO has expanded this to include a similar program for construction works.
This page is a guide outlining the procedures for awarding construction works contracts as stipulated by TEPCO's Materials & Procurement Department. It is our hope that these new procedures will foster more business partnerships between TEPCO and selected contractors.
