What is the state of Units 5 and 6?

When the accident occurred, Units 5 and 6 were off-line for regular inspection. Even after the tsunami, emergency diesel generators, emergency batteries, and power supply trucks were operable thereby enabling power to be secured and sparing the units from any large damage.
In January 2014 it was decided that these units will also be decommissioned and we are examining the potential to these reactors for R&D demonstrative tests.
