Multi-nuclide removal equipment (ALPS) is equipment designed to reduce the concentrations of 62 types of radioactive substances, with the exception of tritium, to safe levels stipulated by the government using treatment methods that employ chemical and physical methods, such as using chemical agents for sedimentation treatment, and using adsorbents to adsorb radioactive substances, in order to reduce the human and environmental risks of radioactive substances contained in contaminated water.
If we were to use the removal performance for strontium as an example, if you saturated a swimming pool with ink, the equipment could remove all but a half of a teaspoon of the ink and purify the water.
