Our Initiatives for Health and Productivity Management

Since the TEPCO Health and Productivity Management Declaration of 2018, we have worked to create an environment where employees can feel motivated and engaged at work. In recent years, our operating environment has changed significantly due to increasingly diverse work styles, the acceleration of digitalization, and changes in social conditions. To create a workplace where every employee can work in good health and with vitality, we established the Basic Policy on Health and Productivity Management in March 2025.

TEPCO Health and Productivity Management Declaration

We believe that physical and mental health is the most important foundation for the happiness and personal fulfillment of each individual and their family.
For employees to lead fulfilling lives, they need to feel motivated and engaged in their daily work. Building a healthy workplace where such employees thrive is the "Health and Productivity Management" we aim to achieve.
Through these efforts, we will pursue greater vitality and productivity to improve business performance and corporate value, thereby fulfilling our responsibilities to Fukushima.

Basic Policy on Health and Productivity Management — March 2025

Physical Health

We support improvements in lifestyle habits in various ways, aiming to promote health and reduce health risks.

Mental Health

We will enhance mental health measures and strengthen early identification and intervention, aiming to build an organization where employees can maintain good mental health.

Organizational Health

We will build a foundation for safe and secure work, aiming to create a comfortable workplace where every employee can stay physically and mentally healthy.

Promotion and Implementation Structure

Our Representative Executive Officer and President holds ultimate responsibility for health and productivity management, supported by a team of health promotion personnel, the chief occupational physician, and occupational health staff.
In addition, we promote measures to maintain and improve the health of employees and their families through Collabo-Health, our collaboration initiatives with the TEPCO Health Insurance Association.

TEPCO Group health and productivity management structure. The HR Committee, chaired by the CHRO, reports to the President and receives consultation and recommendations. Implementation runs through TEPCO Holdings' Organization, Labor & Human Resources Office to core operating companies and worksites, in coordination with the TEPCO Health Insurance Association (Collabo-Health), the labor union, and safety and health committees.

Key Initiatives

We build our support around the three pillars of "Physical, Mental, and Organizational" Health, helping every employee stay healthy and work with vitality. We encourage employees to "Learn, Think, and Act" on their own health as part of daily life, strengthening health literacy, productivity, and well-being.

Physical Health

To help every employee feel supported at work, specialized nursing staff provide health consultations.
We offer wide-ranging support, from addressing everyday health concerns and preventing lifestyle-related diseases to explaining checkup results and advising on treatment.

Mental Health

■ Line Manager Support

We distribute guidebooks to line managers to help prevent mental health issues, detect them early, and respond appropriately.
The guidebooks offer practical guidance to help managers recognize changes in their team members and provide necessary support.

■ Training for Newly Appointed Managers

We provide regular training on mental health care for newly appointed managers.
The training helps participants acquire practical skills, from basic knowledge of mental health to how to respond to situations in the workplace.

■ Self-Care Training for New Employees

We provide self-care training for all new employees.
We help employees develop the ability to recognize and manage changes in their own stress and physical condition, helping to build a foundation where they can maintain their well-being at work.

Mental health training and seminars for workplace managers

Organizational Health

We foster workplaces where employees can freely express their opinions and respect one another.
A psychologically safe work environment not only improves individual performance but also energizes teams.

■ Workshops for High-Stress Workplaces

We regularly conduct workshops for managers of high-stress workplaces, where they can share and discuss insights and concerns related to workplace management.
By visualizing stress factors, we support improvements in both the workplace environment and managers' capabilities.

TEPCO Health and Productivity Management Strategy Map. Health investments across physical, mental, and organizational health are linked through implementation indicators and indicators for changes in employee awareness and behavior to three final health-related target indicators: improvement in health literacy, improvement in productivity (reduction in presenteeism and absenteeism), and improvement in employee well-being. These support the TEPCO Group's four Values: Top Priority on Safety, Fulfill our Responsibilities, Customer-focused, and Dare to Innovate.
