Facilities for a Stable Supply of Electricity
-
Electricity Flowchart
TEPCO generates electricity at hydro, thermal, nuclear and renewable energy stations, with this electricity passing through transmission lines, substations, distribution lines, and other equipment before reaching our customers.
-
Power Transmission Lines
Power transmission lines function to deliver electricity from distant power stations to our customers.
These lines are for transmitting large amounts of electricity in a stable and efficient manner. -
Substations
Substations control voltage in order transmit high-quality electricity with little loss.
There are 1,614 substations within the TEPCO Power Grid’s service area (as of end of March 2017) that perform functions such as voltage step-up/step-down and frequency regulation. -
Distribution Lines
Distribution lines serve as the final paths through which electricity reaches our customers from remote power stations.
These well-known facilities ensure a stable supply of electricity with a suitable voltage for our customers. -
Communication Lines
Communication lines are power transmission equipment used for information transmission in order to provide a stable supply of electricity by adjusting the output of power stations and other facilities, and controlling power facilities in order to achieve a balance between the supply and demand of electricity.
