Participation in Initiatives
EV100 EV30@30
EV100 is a global initiative led by the non-profit organization, The Climate Group that is bringing together companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EV) and the creation of charging infrastructure.
EV30@30 is a global initiative established at the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) to increase the share of electric vehicles (EV) sold on the all new car market including busses and trucks, to 30% or more in all member nations by the year 2030. As part of these global initiatives, the TEPCO Group aims to build charging infrastructure and electrify 100% of its company vehicles by 2030.
Promoting the creation of infrastructure and the transition to EVs in Japan will not only decrease air pollution and noise pollution caused by transportation, it is also an indispensable solution for decarbonizing the transportation sector, which accounts for approximately 20% of Japan’s CO2 emissions. That is why the TEPCO group responsible for Japan’s energy is cooperating with various related agencies to help promote the transition toEVs. And, the TEPCO group will work to accelerate “electrification” in various sectors and solve social issues related to ESG.
The 30 by 30 Alliance for Biodiversity
“The 30 by 30 Alliance for Biodiversity” is a voluntary coalition of businesses, local governments, and private organizations, including the Ministry of the Environment. It was established to achieve Japan’s “30 by 30 target” of protecting 30% of land and oceans by 2030. The TEPCO Group agreed with the purpose of establishment and decided to join the alliance. To achieve the 30 by 30 target, the TEPCO group will enhance the management of protected areas such as Oze National Park, and aim for owned land to be registered in the international OECM* database.
