International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Inspection Team Review related to the Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (5th Review)

We hereby inform you that the International Atomic Energy Agency (hereinafter referred to as, "IAEA") inspection team will be conducting another review of initiatives and challenges pertaining to the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, which is currently proceeding in accordance with the Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of the TEPCO HD Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (December 27, 2019 revision).
The objective of this review conducted by the IAEA at the request of the Japanese government is to assess and provide advice related to initiatives and challenges pertaining to the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. This will be the fifth time such a review is conducted and it follows reviews implemented in April 2013, November 2013, February 2015, and November 2018.
The schedule and the details of the review shall be decided on by the Japanese government and the IAEA.
TEPCO HD shall continue to move safely and steadily forward with decommissioning initiatives based on the assessment and advice received from the IAEA inspection team during this review.
