Press Release
Status of Repairs to Restore Power in TEPCO Power Grid’s Service Area in the wake of Typhoon #15 (As of 6 PM, September 27)

Sep 27, 2019

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc.

We sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience that the power outages resulting from Typhoon #15 has caused on all those affected.

We have been working diligently to repair the power losses caused by Typhoon #15 with the cooperation of Chiba Prefecture, local municipalities, the Japan Self-Defense Force, as well as other electric power companies and contractors. With the exception of areas that require substantial repairs, and areas in which it has been difficult to make repairs as a result of landslides and downed trees over a wide area, we anticipate that power should be restored by the end of today.

We will continue to provide assistance to those customers who are living areas where it has been difficult to make repairs, such as by providing generators, and we shall quickly work to restore power as the conditions in these areas are improved.

<Areas in which repairs have been difficult>

21 locations (110 households): Ichihara City (2), Sanmu City (3), Futtsu City (7), Kimitsu City (5), Minami-Boso City (2), Kyonan Town (1), Kamogawa City (1)

*Occupied homes have been supplied with generators

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience and concern that long-term power outages to homes and streetlamps etc. where service lines were damaged have caused.

We anticipate that by the end of today power should be restored to all customers that have contacted TEPCO as of yesterday with the exception of areas that require substantial repairs. Furthermore, at current time, newly inquiring customers can expect to have their power restored within a day or two.

Any customers that continue to experience power loss as a result of Typhoon #15 and have not contacted TEPCO are encouraged to do so using the following numbers so that we can quickly respond: 0120-995-007 or 03-6375-9803.

TEPCO will continue to make every effort to restore power as quickly as possible to those customers that continue to experience power outages.

【WARNING】

After power has been restored you may return your circuit breakers to the “ON” position and plug in your appliances

○ Some homes may still be without power due to damage to low-voltage lines or drop lines. If you believe this pertains to you please contact TEPCO to ask for assistance.
