Predicted Date for the Restoration of the Power to TEPCO Power Grid’s Service Area Affected by Power Outages Caused by Typhoon #15 and Measures to be Implemented Going Forward [As of 6:00 PM, September 13]

We would like to deeply apologize for the great inconvenience and concern that we have caused a great many people as a result of the loss of power in conjunction with typhoon #15.
As of 6:00 PM today, we have reduced the number of households in TEPCO Power Grid’s service area that are still without power to approximately 185,000 homes.
We continue to strive to restore power as quickly as possible.
1.Future Predictions
Based on the facility damage that we have confirmed to date, we plan to move ahead with repairs as follows as of today (September 13) (refer to the attachment).
①Areas in which power is expected to be restored within three days
Areas in which repairs are progressing relatively smoothly and power should be restored within three days if the current rate of progress is maintained.
②Areas in which power is expected to be restored in approximately one week
Areas in which facility damaged has been assessed but a lot of work is needed in order to restore power, and therefore more time is required.
③Areas in which power is expected to be restored in approximately two weeks
Areas in which there is vast facility damage over a wide area and much time and work will be required to complete inspections, begin/complete repairs and restore power.
2.Approach to Repairs
-We aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible and currently have as many as 16,000 workers in the field, which includes assistance from other electric power companies.
-We are dispatching* power supply trucks to regions in which power outages continue based upon requests from local governments.
*Medical facilities and public facilities are being prioritized. Approximately 197 power supply trucks have been mobilized and 61 are currently in operation.
3.Local Assistance
We are providing cell phone recharging services to people in regions in which power outages are expected to continue in accordance with requests from local governments.
We continue to strive to restore power as quickly as possible and also quickly provide information about repair status via our website and Twitter, etc.
