Fuel Cost Adjustment in the Electricity Rates for October 2019

In response to today's publication of the fuel prices from May 2019 to July 2019 (trade statistics prices of crude oil, LNG, and coal), the fuel cost adjustment unit prices in the electricity rates for October 2019 have been fixed as follows.
Additionally, while the consumption tax rate will be raised from eight percent to ten percent effective on October 1, 2019, the tax rate will remain eight percent for the month of October for customers for which the applicable calculation term for October rates* includes September 30, 2019 or the preceding period in accordance with transitional measures stipulated in the Consumption Tax Act. The ten percent tax rate will then be applied to their electricity rates for November 2019 and afterwards for the aforementioned customers.
* The calculation term for October electricity rates shall be from the meter reading date in September 2019 to the day before the meter reading date in October 2019.

The electricity rates on the average model for October 2019 will be 7,069 yen, which is a decrease of -42 yen* compared with September 2019.
