On November 6, the governor of Fukushima prefecture, Masao Uchibori, visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.
The Governor was given a good look at decommissioning efforts underway from high ground on the west side of Units 1~4, and was also shown additionally installed multi-nuclide removal equipment (ALPS), constructed area on Futaba town side and seawalls, etc.
During the tour, Governor Uchibori said, "The steady progress of decommissioning work over the past year is thanks to every single person involved in decommissioning. I would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone." The governor also showed appreciation to every staff of Fukushima Daiichi and cooperating companies, saying, "In order to proceed the decommissioning work smoothly, it is essential for every one of you to stay healthy and well. Please take care and be safe."
TEPCO will continue to move steadily and safely forward with the long-term decommissioning process with the understanding and cooperation of society.
