TEPCO Employee Tests Positive for Covid-19

It was confirmed today through PCR testing that one employee of TEPCO Energy Partner, Inc. working in the Shinjuku District branch in Tokyo has contracted Covid-19.

At the TEPCO Group*, a Covid-19 Countermeasures Task Force headed by TEPCO’s president has taken measures to prevent the spread of the virus, and we have continued to implement our Business Continuity Plan while also implementing countermeasures to prevent infection and the spread of the virus. The Covid-19 infection of employee shall not impact the stable supply of power, the safe operation of power stations, nor decommissioning work.

Going forward, the TEPCO Group will respond properly to instructions given by health officials as we continue to implement countermeasures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

TEPCO Energy Partner, Inc., Tokyo Customer Center; one employee

2. Measures taken
- Sterilization of the office in which the infected employee works
- Shelter-in-place order given to staffs and related workers who work close to the infected employee

3. Main countermeasures to prevent the spread of infection
- Basically staffs to work remotely from home except when engaging in priority duties
- Staffs ordered to take their temperature before coming to the office and also ordered to wear surgical masks while commuting
