Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visits the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

On April 14, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

The Prime Minister was given a good look at decommissioning efforts underway from high ground on the west side of Units 1~4 where radiation reduction measures are being implemented. The Prime Minister also received explanations of contaminated water countermeasures and preparations to remove fuel from Unit 3, etc.

After his tour, Prime Minister Abe presented letters of gratitude to contractor employees engaged in decommissioning and water treatment efforts. Prime Minister Abe said, “Let’s continue to work together until we have enabled Fukushima to completely recover.”

We will continue to move steadily and safely forward with the long-term decommissioning process with the understanding and cooperation of society.
