The conditions at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in the wake of Typhoon Hagibis are as follows.
As of 9 AM on October 15, there have been no significant fluctuations in plant parameters or onsite monitoring post dust monitor values. Furthermore, the differences between the levels of accumulated water inside each building and the water levels in subdrains in the vicinity of the buildings are being maintained.
There were eight leak alarms from detectors installed in buildings as rainfall increased in conjunction with the approaching Typhoon, but the alarms were caused by rainwater.
There were also two other alarms that sounded. One indicating an abnormality with the DC current source for the Unit 1 turbine building first floor leak monitoring panel, and another indicating a leak in the used cesium absorption tower temporary storage facility (daisan facility). Whereas it is unclear whether there is a connection between the typhoon and these alarms, the causes of these alarms have been deemed as a breakdown and a malfunction, respectively.
Facility inspection patrols conducted thereafter discovered partial collapses to some of the slopes on site, but at current time no abnormalities that would impact primary facilities have been found.
