Result of radioactive nuclide analysis for the water sampled from the sub drain around centralized waste treatment facility.
Results of radioactive nuclide analysis are published for the samples of groundwater at the east side of Unit 1-4 Turbine Buildings and seawater at the port in order to monitor the source and the extent of the radioactive materials in the groundwater, and whether the materials included in groundwater affect the sea.
August 25, 2014 | Detailed Analysis Results of Groundwater Obtained around Unit 1-4 Building at Fukushima |
---|
Radioactive material was detected from the accumulated water inside the pit as a result of purification test at a well (sub-drain pit), which is adjacent to Unit 1-4 Buildings at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Since there is a possibility that the water was affected by fallout, we installed new observation well around Unit 1-4 Buildings in order to assess the impact of fallout.
Analysis results of the major 3 nuclides (I-131, Cs-134, Cs-137) are being announced as flash report on a daily basis.
With regard to reevaluation of the major 3 nuclides and analysis results of γ nuclides except for the major 3 nuclides are being announced as definite report.

Nuclide analysis is in operation on the radioactive materials in the water sampled near the South Discharge Channel (approximately 330m south of Unit 1-4 side of the South Discharge Channel) in response to the leaked water from the pipeline connecting from Desalination System (Reverse Osmosis Membrane) to Concentrated Water Storage Tank (occurred on March 26 and April 5, 2012).
* The sampling location has been changed on November 26, 2012. (Sampling is performed at approx. 1km south of the previous location.)
