System Planning (Bulk Power System) System Planning (Regional Power System) Optimum Fault Current Countermeasures
Fault Current is current flowing from each generator into a fault point. Upgrading and expanding of generating and transmission system facilities increase fault current levels.

1. Problems of fault current increasing
  • Shortage of capacity of transmission lines and series facilities such as Circuit Breakers
  • Interference to communication lines caused by electromagnetic induction
  • Damage to the facilities caused by the fault currents
