NAS Battery System
1. What is a NAS battery?
NAS battery is an advanced battery realized by 20 years of R&D activities.
This battery can store a large amount of electricity efficiently and compactly.
2. Features of the NAS battery
- High pulse power capability
- Environmentally friendly
- High charging-discharging efficiency
- Long cycle lifetime (High durability)
- Superior operation and maintenance
- Internal operating temperature: nearly 300 degrees C
- High energy density, thus compact (3 times more compact than a lead acid
battery)
3. Applications
A NAS battery system can supply electricity at its rated power (50kW per
module) for 7.2 hours, which is useful for T&D deferral by peak shaving.
For power quality use, a NAS battery can offer 5 times the amount of rated power
at any time during peak shaving. Thanks to its high reliability, the NAS battery
system was used as the UPS for the International Broadcasting Center of 2002
FIFA world cup.
