Integrating Hydroelectric Power Plant Monitoring and Control Centers
February 1, 2021
TEPCO Renewable Power, Inc.
In order to improve productivity, TEPCO Renewable Power, Inc. has integrated the monitoring/control of its hydroelectric power plants, which had been separate for each prefecture (163 monitoring/control centers in seven prefectures), into one monitoring/control center.
We began examining the integration of monitoring/control centers in 2015 after which we gradually started integration thereby resulting in the project’s conclusion today.
Hydroelectric power plant monitoring/control centers are kept in operation 24 hours a day/365 days a year, and aggregating all data in one location will improve operation efficiency.
Furthermore, during the course of integration we have also automated monitoring/control systems, created systems for managing trouble symptoms, and also created backup systems to be used in the event of an emergency.
Going forward we aim to further improve energy efficiency through the systematic management of river systems, further enable work innovations by leveraging data managed in a unified manner, and improve added value.
Through the application of new technologies and work reforms, TEPCO Renewable Power, Inc. will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society by efficiently converting the gifts of nature into energy, and providing the energy to our customers.
