Safety Measures Implementation at Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station
Impact Mitigation Measures Implementation at Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station
Considering the case that all the aforementioned safety measures do not function, a hydrogen exhaust equipment (top vent) will be installed in the upper part of the Reactor Building to prevent hydrogen explosion due to the accumulated hydrogen (Already installed for Unit 1 and 7).
In addition to the top vents, the existing blow-out panels will also be opened to let hydrogen out of the building allowing to prevent hydrogen explosion leading to the release of a massive amount of radioactive materials.
