Tokyo Electric Power Company (President: Naomi Hirose) is pleased to announce today that the cleaning and recycling business of equipment with very small quantities of PCB will be transferred from "TEPCO Kawasaki Recycle Center" to Tokyo Power Technology Ltd.(President :Hideo Hara) which is a 100% subsidiary. This aims for more efficient business operations in consideration of upcoming shift to a holding company system.
As a result of this transfer, Tokyo Power Technology will perform cleaning processes and recycling of small equipment with very small quantities of PCB for companies other than TEPCO from April 2016. At the same time, Tokyo Power Technology will build a new facility to clean and recycle medium-sized and large transformers in FY2017 to expand business activities.
This will enable Tokyo Power Technology to provide one-stop service which includes cleaning and recycling in addition to analysis, collection and transport, and consultancy services for equipment with PCB residue.
Today, Tokyo Power Technology obtained an approval for disposal of industrial waste subject to special control* from Kawasaki city to perform cleaning processes on equipment with very small amounts of PCB residue for non-TEPCO Power Technology.
TEPCO Group will continue to further domestic PCB processing utilizing the knowledge and know-how about PCB processing that we have accumulated over the years and appreciate the public's continued support.

*Approval for PCB disposal of industrial waste subject to special control
This is approval to process PCB waste that is stored by another company. This was granted by prefectural Governors (mayor of government-designated city).
