Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo President: Naomi Hirose) and contractors have been negotiating the opening of stores with several convenience store franchisers. Lawson, Inc. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo President: Genichi Tamatsuka) have agreed to open the "Lawson TEPCO Fukushima Large Rest House Store" at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station's Large Rest House. The store will open at 10A.M. today.
The onsite Large Rest House began operation in May 2015, and in addition to providing office space and meeting areas for contractors, a cafeteria and kiosk were to be installed so that all workers at the site could refresh themselves. The cafeteria opened in June 2015, followed by the opening of "Lawson TEPCO Fukushima Large Rest House Store".
We would like to express our deep gratitude to Lawson and all relevant parties for opening a store at the Large rest house at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, and ask for further cooperation in future operations.
TEPCO will continue its efforts to improve the labor environment at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to create a workplace where contractors can work feeling safe and secure.
