･Location of water leakage from Unit 3 reactor container was identified through an investigation using camera
･The discovery marks one big step forward towards plugging the water flow and finally taking out the melted fuel from the reactor
･Following assessment, TEPCO will review ways to plug the leakage

FUKUSHIMA, May 16 -A location where water is leaking from a reactor container has been identified through and investigation using camera, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) announced on May 15.

The leakage was found from one of the pipes coming out of the outside container of the reactor, primary containment vessel (PCV) at Unit 3. The spot was approximately 4 meters away from the surface of the PCV, and the scale of the leakage was about several centimeters thick in diameter. It was the first time the leakage location was pinpointed at Unit 3, marking one big step forward towards plugging the water flow and finally taking out the melted fuel from the reactor.

TEPCO said following the assessment of the amount of water etc, it will review ways to plug the leakage. The company will also continue to investigate other leaking locations.
