We have been informed by Soma Kyodo Thermal Power Co., Ltd. that Unit 2 of its Shinchi Power Station (Location: Shinchi Town, Soma County, Fukushima Prefecture, Main fuel: Coal, Rated capacity: 1,000 MW, Amount of electricity TEPCO receives: 470 MW) was shut down at 3:10 PM on February 2, 2014 following an incident where steam leakage was found inside the boiler.

We have secured a supply capacity of 47.56 GW for today, and we expect that the rate of electricity use will be 82% (the reserve margin will be 21.3%).
