Press Release (Dec 27, 2013)Submission of the Change of the Amount of the Financial Support (the Fifth Time) and Application for Change of the Special Business Plan
Today (on December 27, 2013), we submitted the fifth change of the amount of financial support (the increase of 999.510 billion yen) received from the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund (hereinafter referred to as 'the Fund') in accordance with Article 43 Paragraph (1) of the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund Law (hereinafter referred to as 'the Law').
In accordance with Article 46 Paragraph (1) of the Law, we submitted jointly with the Fund the request for approval for the changes of the Special Business Plan approved on June 25, 2013 to the Competent Ministers (of the State for the Corporation in Support of Compensation for Nuclear Damage, and the Agency for Natural Resource and Energy).
We will announce the contents of the changes of the Special Business Plan as soon as we receive the approval from the Ministers.
This submission of the amount of financial support reflects the below ideas towards compensation: 1) the commencement of compensation regarding fields, and 2) 'Damage due to procurement of houses', 'Damage related to a certain period after the evacuation orders were dissolved', and 'Mental anguish etc. of the ones forced to give up lives at their familiar homes/areas where they could not return for a long period which cannot be forecast' based on the "Fourth Supplement to the Interim Guidelines".
