In accordance with the "Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4", TEPCO has been proceeding with steps towards the decommissioning. We would like to announce that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is scheduled to conduct a review of these steps.
This review will be conducted for us to receive evaluation and consultation from the IAEA on issues involved in our steps towards the decommissioning in accordance with the Mid-and-Long-Term Roadmap, particularly such immediate issues as measures against contaminated water and the fuel removal from the Unit 4 spent fuel pool.
The review will be conducted by the IAEA and experts from various countries from November 25 to December 4, 2013. As part of this review, a site investigation at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station is scheduled for November 27.
This is the second time the IAEA will conduct a review of our steps towards the decommissioning, following its first review in April this year.
