On November 7, 2012, we received a document^* "Submission of an implementation plan of the measures for the specified reactor facilities to be installed at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station" from the Nuclear Regulation Authority. In accordance with the document received, we put together a measure implementation plan and submitted it to the Regulation Authority on December 7, 2012.
Later, the implementation plan was reviewed by the Nuclear Regulation Authority, and was approved on Aug. 14, 2013.

A request to change the implementation plan was submitted to the Nuclear Regulation Authority on August 30, 2013 (previously announced). The implementation plan was reviewed by the Nuclear Regulation Authority, and was approved today.

Provided below is the outline approved this time.

II. Design of the specified reactor facilities
2.11 Facilities for debris removal from the spent fuel pool

·Regarding the manual on checking the soundness of fuel and handling fuel, improvement in description on the procedures of checking the soundness of the fuel and preventative measure/ coping approach against grazing by debris
·Clarifying the purpose of using cranes, improvement in principal specification description
·Regarding the manual on radiation monitoring, improvement in description on fundamental guidelines and improvement in description such as adding check points when monitoring as a postscript
·Regarding the manual on the procedures of debris removal etc., adding the procedures in debris removal inside the pool as a post script, and improvement in description of assessment when debris falling
·Regarding the manual on structure strength and earthquake resistance of the ventilation facilities for debris removal cover, reconsideration on numerical value in accordance with the progress in its plan
