This is follow-up information on the water dropping from the top plate of the B area (south), which happened yesterday (on October 2).
At around 2:00 PM today (on October 3), we confirmed that the water has stopped dropping from the top plate of the tank in question.
For the purpose of lowering the water level of the tank in question, we transferred water from the top plate of the tank to a temporal tank installed inside the dike of the tank via a submergible pump. In addition, we performed the following measures in order to prevent the tank water from overflowing to the outside of the dike.
<Countermeasures against water dropping outside>
- We wiped out the water which was accumulating in the scaffold installed for inspection.
- As for drainage holes on the scaffold, we covered the periphery holes with sealing tapes.
- In case of water dropping to the outside, we installed a rain gutter which leads dropped water to the inside of the dike.
