At 9:57 today (on October 3), a TEPCO employee found that seawater was leaking (approx. the size of a pencil) from the pipes cooling the motor of the remaining heat removal system seawater pump (D) for Unit 6, as he activated the concerned pump (which is installed outside) on a regular verification run.
We immediately suspended the concerned pump, and there has been no leak since then.
The remaining heat removal system pump (B) and the remaining heat removal system seawater pump (B) have been continuingly operated to cool the reactor.
We will make investigation and specify a cause.
