At around 9:10 AM today (on September 19), an associated company worker accidentally cut a fire extinguishing piping near the south of the pump room at the seaside (OP. 4m) of Unit 1 at Fukushima Daiichi NPS during the debris removal work, and water was found to be leaked from the piping.
At present, water has stopped since a valve on the upstream side of the piping was closed.
Surface dose rate of the leaked water was 300 to 700 μSv/h, which is equivalent to the background level.
