Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report (Sep 17, 2013)Influence of Rainfall from Approaching Typhoon on Fukushima Daiichi NPS (Follow-up Information 5)

This is follow-up information on influence of rainfall from the approaching typhoon on Fukushima Daiichi NPS.

Water accumulated inside the dikes for contaminated water storage tanks in the areas where high radioactivity levels were found in the all-β radioactivity analysis by simplified measurement has been transferred sequentially to different tanks in the same areas by use of temporary pumps.

Transfer operations conducted on September 16 are as follows:

<Transfer operations on September 16>
(Tank area name) (Transfer period) (Water depths after transfer)
· H1 area 7:25 AM to 8:42 PM Approx. 2cm
· H2 area (north) 2:17 AM to 8:48 PM Approx. 3cm
· H2 area (south) 2:11 AM to 8:51 PM Approx. 4cm
· H3 area 9:30 AM to 8:45 PM Approx. 4cm
· H4 area (north) 3:04 AM to 8:57 PM Approx. 3cm
· H4 area (east) 3:04 AM to 9:02 PM Approx. 4cm
· H4 area 3:o4 AM to 8:54 PM Approx. 4cm
· H5 area 7:34 AM to 4:13 PM Approx. 14cm
· H6 area 7:46 AM to 8:36 PM Approx. 5cm
· B area (north) 2:20 PM to 8:31 PM Approx. 5cm
· B area (south) 12:07 PM to 8:28 PM Approx. 6cm
· G6 area (south) 12:18 PM to 8:24 PM Approx. 5cm

We are planning to transfer water accumulated inside the tank area dikes to different tanks in the same areas using temporary pumps in accordance with conditions of rainwater accumulated there.
