This is follow-up information on the latest situation concerning the detection of high densities of Tritium and Strontium in the observation hole at the east side of the Unit 1-4 Turbine Buildings of Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
Since increase on the cesium-134 and cesium-137 densities was observed in groundwater obtained at the observation No.1 at the east side of Unit 1-4 Turbine Building on August 29, sampling and analysis were performed again today (on August 30).
As a result, values obtained this time were equivalent to the results of sampling which was performed on August 26 before the increase was found.
<Measurement results on the groundwater observation hole No.1 obtained on August 30>
· Cesium-134 : 0.98Bq/L
(Result obtained on August 26: below the detection limit value / the past highest value as of August 26: 3.2Bq/L)
· Cesium-137 : 2.1Bq/L
(Result obtained on August 26: 0.84Bq/L / the past highest value as of August 26: 4.3Bq/L)
