On August 15, we started pumping up groundwater from one of the well points (pumping facilities using vacuum pumps) installed east of Units 1 and 2 Turbine Buildings and transferring the pumped-up water to the Unit 2 vertical shaft C. Then, since 8:20 AM yesterday (on August 23), pumping up groundwater from all of the well points at a total of 28 locations and transferring the pumped-up water to the Unit 2 vertical shaft C has been started and continued.
Today (on August 24), the transfer destination of water from the well points was changed from the Unit 2 vertical shaft C to Unit 2 Turbine Building since the water transfer from the Unit 2 branch trench (the vertical shaft B and the power cable trench) to Unit 2 Turbine Building was completed. We started the water transfer from the well points to the new destination at 1:55 PM. After we started this transfer, we patrolled the site to check on the transfer, and found no abnormality such as leakage.
