On May 31, 2013, we submitted to the Nuclear Regulation Authority a request to change the technical specifications for the nuclear reactor facilities*1 at Fukushima Daiichi, Fukushima Daini, and Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Stations. This request was made in association with reorganization of the head office and power stations, change in the work system applied to chief engineers of reactors, and capacity increases of 125V DC storage batteries at Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station.
At present, we are taking forward the nuclear safety reform in line with "Reassessment of Fukushima Nuclear Accident and Outline of Nuclear Safety Reform Plan" (released on March 29, 2013). The reorganization of the head office and power stations, and the change in the work system applied to chief engineers of reactors will be implemented as means for advancing the reform. The capacity increases of 125V DC storage batteries at Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station are intended to work as a safety measure.
Provided below is the outline of the change to be made.
- Change of provisions related to the reorganization of the head office and power stations
- Change of provisions related to the change in the work system applied to chief engineers of reactors
- Change of provisions related to capacity increases of 125V DC storage batteries at the Unit 1 and Unit 7 Reactors of Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station
(Previously announced on May 31, 2013)
We would like to announce that we have today received from the Nuclear Regulation Authority approval for our request to change the technical specifications for the nuclear reactor facilities at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station, and Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station, following the national government's review on the request.
