This is a follow-up report on the statuses of suspension of a suction pump installed at dust radiation monitor B system in the exhaust system exit of Unit 2 Reactor Building yesterday (July 23).
At around 12:00 PM today (July 24), an alarm went off indicating a failure of the dust radiation monitor B system (abnormal pressure), and the suction pump was suspended again. As a result of the site investigation, we estimated that dislocation of a packing part of filter paper sending device caused the abnormal pressure in the device, and the suction pump was suspended. Therefore, we have adjusted this dislocation of the packing part.
At 2:16 PM today (July 24), the suction pump of the dust radiation monitor B system was restarted after the adjustment. No abnormality in the operation status was found.
The exhaust system of Reactor Building has been operated normally during the suspension period of the dust radiation monitor, and the air in the Reactor Building has been exhausted through the filter continuously.
