This is follow-up information regarding the water leak from the underground reservoirs at Fukushima Daiichi NPS since April 5, 2013.
We would like to announce the results of sampling performed in the underground reservoirs today (July 10).
Measurement amount of all βwas approx. 2-5 times larger than the detection limit (3.2 x 10-2 Bq/cm3) at 4 observation holes (A13, A14, A16 and A19) around the underground reservoir No.1.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Observation hole A13
July 10: 5.4 x 10-2 Bq/cm3
(July 9: Below the detection limit [2.8 x 10-2 Bq/cm3])
- Observation hole A14
July 10: 3.9 x 10-2 Bq/cm3
(July 9: Below the detection limit [2.8 x 10-2 Bq/cm3])
- Observation hole A16
July 10: 1.5 x 10-1 Bq/cm3
(July 9: Below the detection limit [2.8 x 10-2 Bq/cm3])
- Observation hole A19
July 10: 1.1 x 10-1 Bq/cm3
(July 9: Below the detection limit [2.8 x 10-2 Bq/cm3])
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
No significant change was found with the other analysis results (chloride concentration).
The cause of the increase in all β amount will be investigated, and the water level, etc. of the underground reservoirs will continue to be intensively monitored.
