Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report 2013

Fukushima Daiichi NPS Prompt Report (Jun 16, 2013)A water droplet found at the batch treatment tank 2A of multi-nuclide removal equipment in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

During dew condensation check around 11:00 PM yesterday (June 15), a TEPCO employee found a trace of discolored (brown) water in the leaked water receiving pan under the batch treatment tank (2A) of multi-nuclide removal equipment system A which is under trial operation utilizing waste liquid treated at water treatment facility.

There is no possibility of water leaking outside the equipment since the trace of water was found in the leaked water receiving pan under the tank.

Partially discolored dew condensation water was attached on the surface of the batch treatment tank (2A), so we have placed a bucket to receive the water droplet and have monitored the water dropping condition.
Dew condensation is occurred on the surface of the tank continuously, however, no discolored water dropping has been found as of now.

Multi-nuclide removal equipment system A will be suspended and further investigation of the discolored water droplet will be performed to ensure safety.

The investigation results are to be announced.

No significant change in the monitoring post data has been found.
