This is follow-up information regarding the water leak from the underground reservoirs at Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
The results of sampling performed in the underground reservoirs yesterday (May 24) are as follows.
- Drain holes of the underground reservoirs No.1-7
- Leakage detection holes of the underground reservoirs No.1-4 and 6
- Observation holes of the underground reservoirs (around reservoirs No.1-3): A1-A19
- Observation holes of the underground reservoirs (around reservoir No.6): B1-B3
No significant change was found with the results compared to the previous results.
Though All β was detected at the underground reservoir No.2 observation hole 2-10, 2-11 and 2-12 as a result of the water analysis in observation hole 2-1 to 2-13 in order to identify the leakage location, no significant change was found with the results compared to the previous results.
- Underground reservoir No.2 observation hole 2-10: 8.2 × 10-2Bq/cm3
(Analysis result as of May 22: 1.0 × 10-1Bq/cm3, analysis result as of May 23: 7.1 × 10-1Bq/cm3)
- Underground reservoir No.2 observation hole 2-11: 3.9 × 10-2Bq/cm3
(Analysis result as of May 22: 3.3 × 10-2Bq/cm3, analysis result as of May 23: Below the detection limit (detection limit: 3.2 × 10-2Bq/cm3))
- Underground reservoir No.2 observation hole 2-12: 3.7 × 10-1Bq/cm3
(Analysis result as of May 21: 2.9 × 10-1Bq/cm3, analysis result as of May 22: 3.8 × 10-1Bq/cm3)
