At around 2:48 PM today (May 18), there was an earthquake (M5.9) in the offshore of Fukushima Prefecture. (Naraha Town: seismic intensity 4, Tomioka Town: seismic intensity 3, Okuma Town: seismic intensity 3)
As for Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, no abnormality was found with the facilities/equipment at Units 1-6 and no significant fluctuation was found with the monitoring post readings. No injury has been reported.

- Shutdown cooling system (at Units 5-6): No abnormality found
- Spent fuel pool cooling system (at Units 1-6): No abnormality found
- Common pool cooling purification system: No abnormality found
- Nitrogen injection system (at Units 1-3): No abnormality found
- PCV gas control system (at Units 1-3): No abnormality found
- Water treatment facilities (including the multi-nuclide removal equipment): No abnormality found
- Accumulated water transfer facilities: No abnormality found
- Power facilities: No abnormality found
No abnormality has been found at Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station.
The maximum seismometer readings observed at Fukushima Daiichi and Daini Nuclear Power Stations are as follows.

Horizontal: 21.7 gal (at Unit 6)
- Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station
Horizontal: 12.7 gal (at Unit 3)
