This is a follow-up report on the temporary suspension of Unit 2 spent fuel pool alternative cooling system which occurred today (April 22).
During the suspension of Unit 2 spent fuel pool alternative cooling system, the dead mice have been removed and a protection cover to prevent the entry of small animals has been installed.
Since no problem was found with the transformer as a result of inspection, the cooling system was restarted at 3:48 PM. No abnormality has been found with its operation after restart.
Though Unit 2 spent fuel pool water temperature increased from 13.9℃ (when the cooling was suspended) to 14.0℃, there is no problem with the spent fuel pool water temperature control considering that there is a sufficient margin to the maximum allowed temperature (65℃).
