Today, the "Social Communication Office" (hereafter SC office) was established directly under the president.
The SC office established in accordance with the "Summary of the Fukushima nuclear accident and nuclear safety reform plan" (announced on March 29, 2013) is intended to enhance risk communication activities to resolve our organizational issue through promoting improvement of our corporate culture and risk communication in compliance with social standards.

The SC office will engage in activities to thoroughly establish a corporate culture that can empathize with the people of Fukushima and broader society on a daily basis, consider countermeasures based on potential risks clarified and analyzed and provide direction to internal organizations to improve information disclosure as necessary. In the case of imminent risks such as a disaster, the SC office will make recommendations to management on emergency responses, etc.

The Director of the SC office, who will be appointed from outside of the company, will be announced once decided. (For the time being, President Naomi Hirose will concurrently serve as the Director.)

We will steadily advance nuclear safety reforms to achieve unsurpassed safety levels based on the lessons learned from the accident.
