Regarding the suspension of Unit 3 spent fuel pool alternative cooling system at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station announced on April 5, the alternative cooling system was restarted at 5:20 PM on the same day. The pool water temperature as of 6:10 PM was 15.2℃. (Previously announced)
(The pool water temperature before the cooling was suspended was 15.1℃ as of 2:00 PM on April 5.)
Unit 3 spent fuel pool water temperatures after the restart are as follows.
Though the pool water temperature increased since 5:00 PM on April 6 due to the increase in the outside air temperature, the pool water temperature as of 5:00 AM on April 9 was 15.1℃ and the temperature has been stable during the last couple of days. Thus, the cooling by the spent fuel pool alternative cooling system is considered to be functioning properly after restart.
