This is follow-up information regarding the water leak from the underground reservoirs at Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
In response to the leakage from the underground reservoir No.2, the water in the underground reservoir No.2 is being transferred to the underground reservoir No.6 utilizing a permanent pump. At 10:00 AM today, water transfer from the underground reservoir No.2 to No.1 utilizing 4 temporary pumps has been started.
The water levels of the underground reservoir No.1, No.2 and No.6 as of 10:00 AM today are approx. 55%, 31% and 33% respectively.
As previously announced in the following up information No.17, the water level of the underground reservoir No.1 as of 7:02 AM on April 8 was 57%. However, it is assumed that some water has returned to the underground reservoir No.2 because of siphon effect due to the water level difference. No problem was found with the sampling results of the water in the surrounding area of the underground reservoir No.1.
