This is follow-up information regarding the water leak from the underground reservoirs at Fukushima Daiichi NPS.
Sampling results of the water in the underground reservoirs No.1-7 drain holes (at 14 locations) and the water in the leakage detection holes (sampling could not be performed at 3 out of 10 locations) are as follows (samples collected on April 7).
As for the water in the drain holes, sampling was performed at 2 locations in all 7 underground reservoirs. As for the water in the leakage detection holes, sampling was performed at 2 locations in the underground reservoirs in which water is stored (5).
The water level, etc. of the concerned reservoir will continue to be intensively monitored.
For the time being, sampling will be performed twice a day (AM and PM) and the results will be announced daily (If no problem is found with the first sampling results of the day, the second sampling will not be performed).
In the case that a significant fluctuation is found with the results, we will promptly make an announcement.
