Press Release (Jan 09, 2013)Operation Suspended at Unit 3 of Anegasaki Thermal Power Station

 

At 12:24 PM on January 7, power generation was suspended at Unit 3 of Anegasaki Thermal Power Station (Station chief: Tetsuro Sasayama, Address: 3 Anegasaki Kaigan, Ichihara City, Chiba Pref., Rated power output: 600MW, Operational commencement: June 1971) during operation with the rated power output since steam leakage from the tube (small metal tube of a diameter of 6cm) inside the boiler was suspected.

As a result of inspection performed after the boiler had cooled down, damage was found with the tube inside the boiler at around 4:30 PM on January 8. The damaged portion of the tube is to be repaired.

Today's supply capacity is 48,390MW and the power consumption rate is estimated to be 91%.
