On February 9, 2012, we concluded the "Agreement on report and communication regarding accidents, etc. at TEPCO Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station" (hereafter the "agreement on report and communication") with 28 municipalities in Niigata Prefecture. As a result of continuous discussion with the municipalities in Niigata Prefecture, the "Agreement on resident safety securement regarding TEPCO Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station" (hereafter the "agreement on safety securement") with 28 municipalities in Niigata Prefecture today.
The agreement on safety securement includes "establishment of nuclear power station meeting for the purpose of mutual collaboration during normal times" and "allowing for on-site confirmation at the power station and opinion exchange when deemed necessary to secure resident safety", as well as the contents of the agreement of report and communication concluded on February 9 of last year.
We will continue our effort in providing clear explanation and detailed information on the status of Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station with the government and municipalities in order to realize a "safe and disaster proof nuclear power station".
The agreement on report and communication has been abolished upon conclusion of the agreement of safety securement.
