Following on the heels of the discussions TEPCO has held up until now with
the municipalities of Niigata Prefecture concerning communication response
measures in the event of equipment failures or accidents at Kashiwazaki
Kariwa Nuclear Power Station, effective as of February 9th, 2012, TEPCO
has entered into the "TEPCO Kashiwazaki Nuclear Power Station Emergency
Reporting Agreement" (hereafter "Reporting Agreement"), with 28
municipalities (Please see the Attachment 1).
Hereafter, in the event of equipment failures or accidents, and other
events necessitating immediate media attention, we will promptly issue
reports to each municipality based on the "Reporting Agreement".
We will continue to issue timely, precise and easy to understand updates
to the national government, local municipalities and local residents while
endeavoring to ensure that Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station is safe
and disaster-resistant.
