Report to Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry with regards to the accumulated water
containing radioactive materials that was found in the trench at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station
With regards to the water containing radioactive materials that we found
accumulated in the trench between process main building and miscellaneous
solid waste volume reduction treatment building (high temperature
incinerator building) in the centralized radiation waste treatment facility
at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station on December 18, we have received
a directive documentation* "Regarding the response to the accumulated water
which contains radioactive materials (Direction)" from Nuclear and
Industrial Safety Agency (NISA), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry
(METI) on December 19.
                                          (Announced on December 19, 2011)

Today, we reported a progress made thus far to NISA regarding the following
items stipulated in the direction:
1.Transfer the accumulated water in the trench to a facility so as to
manage the water in an appropriate way
2.Detect an incoming route of the accumulated water in the trench in order
  to examine water shutoff measures
4.Organize a patrol-inspection plan to check whether there remain
accumulated waters containing radioactive materials in the other trenches
  etc.

                                                                       End
