Status of TEPCO's Facilities and its services after the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake (as of 9:00 am, August 30)
Due to the Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake which occurred on March
11, 2011, TEPCO's facilities including our nuclear power stations have
been severely damaged. We deeply apologize for the anxiety and
inconvenience caused.
With regard to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, on
April 17, we have compiled the roadmap towards restoration from the
accident and then we updated the progress status of roadmap considering
the current situation, on July 19. Accomplishment of the Step1 target
"Radiation dose is in steady decline" has been confirmed. On August 17, we
updated the further progress. 
By bringing the reactors and spent fuel pools to a stable cooling
condition and mitigating the release of radioactive materials, we will
make every effort to enable evacuees to return to their homes and for all
citizens to be able to secure a sound life.

Below is the status of TEPCO's major facilities.

*Underlined are new items

[Nuclear Power Station]
-Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station:
   Units 1 to 3: shutdown due to the earthquake
   (Units 4 to 6: outage due to regular inspections) 

*At 10:00 am 29th August, we restarted transfer of accumulated water from
 underground of turbine building of unit 6 to temporary tanks.At 4:00 pm
 on the same day, we finished transfer.

*In order to modify the software, at 3:32 am on August 30, we stopped the
 evaporative concentration apparatus 2A. At 4:16 am, we stopped the
 evaporative concentration apparatus 2B. After that, at 7:09 am on the
 same day, we stopped the desalination facility (RO) 1A. At 7:16 am, we
 stopped the desalination facility (RO) 2. We are continuing water
 injection to Reactors for Units 1 to 3.

-Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station:
   Units 1 to 4: shutdown due to the earthquake

*On August 29, in the heater building of unit 4, condition of a site
 worker of co-operating company who was in charge of rerouting the
 temporary cable got worse. At around 10:50 am, as heat stroke was
 suspected, we treated the patient with drip infusion and at 11:26 am, we
 transferred to J-Village by our ambulance. At 11:58 am, the patient was
 transferred to Iwaki Kyoritsu Hospital by ambulance. No radioactive
 material attached to the body was found. The doctor examined and
 confirmed that the patient had heat stroke.

-Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station:
   Units 5, 6: under normal operation
   (Units 1 to 4 and 7: outage due to regular inspection)

[Thermal Power Station]
-Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the
 earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Hydro Power Station]
-Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the
 earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.

[Impacts on Transmission Facilities]
-Power supply has returned to normal and facilities damaged by the
 earthquake are now being handled in a timely manner.


[Perspective of Power Supply and Demand Balance in this Summer]
-In August and September, we forecast the maximum supply will be 56.1 GW,
 and the peak demand 48.9 GW.
